On October 23, 2018, Chairman Xi Jinping officially
announced at the Departures Hall of Zhuhai Port Passengers Terminal Building in
Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province that "the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Mega
Bridge" was officially opened for public! This China’s Mega Bridge is the
world’s longest sea
crossing bridge connecting Hong Kong in the east and Zhuhai and Macao in the
west. It is 55 kilometers across the Pearl River Delta, and is opened 7/24 for
road transportation and customs clearance within commute of the three cities.
This Mega Bridge has shortened the travelling time among Hong Kong, Zhuhai and
Macau from original 3 hours down to 45 minutes, which greatly facilitates the
efficient land transportation within the Peral River Delta areas.
